REAP OF DEEDS

History always has a lesson in it but for many it is somewhat boring. Let’s not go very far away there , let’s start from where your and my memory  doesn’t fade away and we have been witness to all of it. The earthquake rattled half the country almost half decade back. We siting in our comfy and safe heavens stated casually it was their sins they got punished for.  It was wrath of God which was inevitable for them. Times moved slowly we got the curse of suicide bombing being attached with bodies getting blown up in every nook and cranny of the country. But we said it’s the moulvis & It’s the  fruit of  Zia ul Haq and his old ally AMRIKA’s  plant which they planted here and now they going to take over us. We kept talking just because we were alive by the end of another day of bomb blast and we never considered it a big thing by the way.
Next came the target killings, the air crash, and the most recently floods. Times changed so did the situations but one thing remained static i.e our thinking and perceptions. We said the target killings were just a political game. What we goto do with them. Those who put there hands in the dirty game of politics they should know what they dealing with. It was another matter along with people who were targeted hits many other suffered during all of it. The air crash came and we again started talking that it’s the work of fate, or it’s the bad weather , some even blamed the poor old pilot . And the most imaginative was that army’s automatic defense system took down that plane. For us it was convenient to talk because at least that is one thing we are very good at. And then the biggest of disasters hit us which is by some reports at 3rd no. in all the biggest disasters of world. We blamed this time to the govt. to the sins people all around committed and called for the wreath of Allah. We blame people that they not getting out to help there fellows. We blame the foreign countries for not helping us in this misery. We blame the politics being played in all this situation. And the most recent the Sialkot incident, we said it’s barbaric its unlawful and inhuman. And again we put the blame on police, on the illiteracy of people and the disrespect of law prevalent in our society since start.
In every catastrophe or times of troubles have we ever thought where we are wrong? Where our part should have been prominent but all we did was just criticize sitting in front of our TV’s , all we did to sympathize with other human beings was just that we updated our FACEBOOK and TWITTERS . To show solidarity we changed our DP’s to be like the ones which were most common those day. Have we ever thought where it all went wrong?? Was the terrorism just a leftover of zia or did we played some part in it too?? Surely we are bigger players in this issue then 7 generations of zia. We never considered those madrassa students as worthy to be our equal . We gave them the status which British used to give to their servants. To us a moulvi was just a servant and he should bend religion at our free will. He surely acted that way till his masters changed and he started playing at their hands with a Ak47 in hand a jacket caressing his body and the name of Almighty in his mouth. He worked not for religion , for the new master, because we made him so that he can serve us not the God. We blame the govt. when its civilian we give reference to the green good old days of martial law and when it’s the dictator sitting at our heads we start talking of our freedom. We never tried working out what is better for us. We just never wanted to rise from our tv lounges since we were never hit with it. Today we say America isn’t helping us , our we helping ourselves?? From top to bottom we all have gone so rotten that now to us we have lost the sense of good and bad. And as many religions and philosophers may put it that when this situation starts happening in a country then there is no turning back.
To electing the govt’s and to the killings of innocent boys, and the plane crash to the bombings at masjid, to the IDP’s and the flood victims not being given there due , I and you and all of us are equally responsible. We made it all happen. It’s not just their own sins they are being punished for but it’s the burden of our sins also which they holding at the moment. But as it will continue time won’t be long when I and you would also be facing it. Till the time we won’t start accepting our own mistake our own sins , we can’t hope for betterment. Situation is so grim that even the most hopeful of the people are now doubtful about the country. But we still are not bothered . Instead of asking for God’s mercy we begging for foreign aids. That’s the level we have sank to. And if this continues then maybe soon we wnt be here to update our statuses .We as a nation are now as confused as this piece may seem to you . But maybe now is the time to turn it all over.
